Mercury is an album in wich the sounds used (improvisations with percussion metal plates and storms field recordings) work into a different perspective on dark ambient, Nieto hasnpt used melodies or ornaments to make the listener more "friendly", It's the transformes sounds that sustain the album and need attentive ears to be enjoyed.

Airports
& Hotels es una recopilación de los sonidos que he
encontrado en los viajes que he realizado en los últimos años.
Las
fuentes de estos sonidos son grabaciones de campo realizadas en
diferentes aeropuertos, dentro de los aviones y en hoteles. En estos
ultimos las grabaciones son improvisaciones con los elementos que
encontre en ellos y sus distintas estancias. Estas grabaciones se
realizaron con las ventanas abiertas para captar los sonidos del
exterior, lluvia, trafico, gente hablando etc.
Estos
sonidos fueron mezclados, intentando mantener, en lo posible, el
espíritu que tenian en origen, y que más que identificar los
sonidos, buscaba que estos se intuyeran.
Los
distintos títulos de los temas hacen referencia a los lugares en los
que se grabaron. La mayoria fueron masterizados y completados en
Madrid.

Airports & hotels is a compilation of the sounds I have found in the trips I have made in recent years.
The
sources of these sounds are field recordings made at different
airports, on airplanes and in hotels. In these last ones the
recordings are improvisations with the elements that I found in them
and their different stays. These recordings were made with the
windows open to capture the sounds of the outside, rain, traffic,
people talking, etc.
These
sounds were mixed, trying to maintain, as much as possible, the
spirit they had at their origin, and rather than identifying the
sounds, I wanted them to be intuited.
The
different titles of the tracks refer to the places where they were
recorded. The majority were mastered and completed in Madrid.

“La idea
original de Shortcut es la combinación de sonidos oscuros netamente
electrónicos, con grabaciones caseras de objetos cotidianos, mucho mas
limpios y reconocibles.
En los primeros intentos los resultados no fueron los deseados, ya que los distintos sonidos ni encajaban ni tenian sentido juntos. Finalmente y en dias consecutivos hice pruebas disponiendo sobre una mesa todos los objetos que había usado en los primeros intentos, improvisando con ellos, para finalmente modificarlos en extremo y sumarlos a los temas electrónicos. Sorprendentemente entre las muchas tomas, 5 de ellas funcionaban como un disco coherente.
En cada tema de Shortcut empleo entre cuatro y nueve pistas, ecualizadas y tratadas de diferentes maneras. El resultado ha sido un EP duro, barroco y tenso, muy variado de timbres y altamente detallado.
Creo que es un disco muy personal en el que la intención y el azar se combinan para dar una vuelta de tuerca más al ruido como forma de crear belleza y emoción.”

"Out of the blue", is based on the different ways to use the same sound apparently taken out from the nature (it is not).
Virtually all of the disc sounds arise from the same source, which originally was only the sound of flowing water, becomes dark ambient sounds, working with almost no harmonics that act as cushion the modification of the original sound more recognizable.
The end result is two long tracks, full of details, which I've included some of the techniques that have worked in recent months.

"Out of the blue", se basa en las diferentes formas de usar un mismo sonido aparentemente sacado de la naturaleza (sin serlo).
Practicamente
todos los sonidos del disco surgen de la misma fuente, lo que en origen
era tan sólo el sonido del agua de un grifo, se transforma en sonidos
ambientales oscuros, trabajando con sus casi inexistentes armónicos que
actúan como colchón de la modificación del sonido original mas
reconocible.
El resultado final son dos largos temas, plagados de
detalles, en los que he incluido parte de las técnicas en las que he
trabajado durante los últimos meses.
